The culinary scene in the city
Finland is the highest consumer of coffee per capita in the world and among world’s top 15 in chocolate consumption! So it comes as no surprise that the Helsinki is bursting with local cafes and bakeries and the aroma in the morning if you walk past them will pull you inside!!
Finnish local cuisine is about fresh caught salmon and using a lot of local produce like mushrooms and berries in their cooking! The past few years the city has seen a surge of diverse global cuisines ranging from Asian, Italian, Indian to Middle Eastern! But vegetarian and vegan food is hugely popular in Finland. The country is also diverse in terms of accommodating different food preferences and allergens! So you are a vegetarian or has food restrictions, you will be absolutely comfortable in Helsinki.
