The Iconic Red Riverside Houses
The iconic ochre and rust red wooden houses along the Porvoonjoki river has been a symbol of the city since the medieval trading era. Now converted to restaurants, cafes, bars and local boutique shops, Porvoo is our personal favorite in Finland.
Here is a bonus info for chocolates lovers like me : Brunberg, based in Porvoo, Finland, is one of the country’s oldest and most respected chocolate manufacturers, dating back to 1871. Their truffles and pralines are to die for!

Finland is the happiest country in the world and having lived here for almost a decade I can safely say that summer is the happiest time here in the Nordics!
